John Murch (Birmingham, Alabama, United States) began taking classes in creative movement at the age of three and started ballet at eight. After a few years, he was offered a scholarship to study at the Alabama Ballet School. Whilst studying there, John received scholarships to take part in the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensives in California and New York, and in the Boston Ballet Summer Intensive. In 2019, he joined The Rock School in Philadelphia and two years later took part in the Youth America Grand Prix, where he came first in the regional round and reached the final of the national competition in Tampa, Florida. That same year, John was given the opportunity to continue his studies at The Royal Ballet School Upper School in London, from which he graduated in 2024. During his time at the Royal Ballet School, he danced in various productions by The Royal Ballet, including Manon and The Nutcracker. He also toured with the company to Japan, where he danced in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet.
