Till Death Do Us Part (or Not)
At first glance, Mary Pearl seems the perfect wife: obedient, dutiful, patient. But behind her prim façade simmers a deep-seated resentment, for her husband William has deprived her of freedom and affection for years. When the terminally ill William agrees to a bizarre medical experiment, Mary finally sees her chance.
Power, revenge and macabre humour
When, after William’s death, his brain and one eye are kept artificially alive, the balance between husband and wife shifts irrevocably. In this production, in the sfere of Roald Dahl, power, revenge and medical ethics converge in a blend of dark suspense and black humour.
Explosive music and acrobatic dance
Amsterdam Sinfonietta and ISH Dance Collective join forces in a performance that blends classical string music with hip-hop and acrobatic dance. Amsterdam Sinfonietta, led by artistic director and violinist Candida Thompson, performs works by Bach, Golijov, Wallen, Kilar, Nyman, Martinov and others, creating a rich soundscape that amplifies the emotional impact of the story.
